Swim Cap: an Immersive Theatre Piece

Mixed Metaphors is partnering with Evolutionary Aquatics to create SwimCap – an immersive theatre piece that will debut on August 18. SwimCap celebrates the renaissance of Black swimming. Tracing the ways Black swimming pools shape Charlotte, deconstructing cultural myths, and creating new water rituals that empower Charlotteans to float into an equitable future.

SwimCap will take place from August 18th-August 20th at 7:30 pm each night and 2:00 pm on 8/19 & 8/20. It will be at Brooklyn Grace (formerly Grace A.M.E. Zion Church), 219 South Brevard Street in Charlotte. Tickets are $20 at Eventbrite. You can check out our brand-new website for more info.
