Nikole Hannah-Jones, Pulitzer Prize-winning creator of the 1619 Project and a staff writer at The New York Times Magazine, will host a public talk on the 1619 Project on July 11, 2024, at Knight Theater. Hannah-Jones will discuss its implications, impact, and impetus for Black futures.
The 1619 Project illuminates the legacy of slavery in the contemporary U.S. and highlights contributions of Black Americans to every aspect of American society. It is also an Emmy® Award-nominated six-part Hulu docuseries.
