Join Levine Museum of the New South in a round-table dialogue about the importance of preserving our community stories and local histories, best practices to collect stories, and what challenges sometimes stand in the way. Panelists DR. STACEY BROWNKAREN SUTTON, and FRANKY ABBOTT will join and share their experiences on preserving stories such as the Grier Heights community, insights on how to get started and help others stay connected to and remember their history.

They’ll discuss the best ways and practices to tell Charlotte’s stories, what communities in Charlotte are at the most risk of losing their history, what resources and collaborations you should consider in preserving stories/history, and more!

Whether you’re interested in preserving your community’s history or desire to begin collecting stories from the elders in your family, this community conversation is a great starting point.
