Robinson Bradshaw supports CBI because we believe in its mission of building a more equitable and just community. As lawyers, we have a responsibility to make our community more equitable and just. We are committed to our own pursuit of a diverse, inclusive firm, and organizations such as CBI provide opportunities to learn and engage and move toward that goal.
Diversity is about more than checking boxes and reporting statistics. True inclusion requires a commitment from the firm, our attorneys and our staff to foster a culture that welcomes and values all people, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, creed, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, socio-economic status, religion, and all other personal characteristics that make us unique. At Robinson Bradshaw, we work hard to make sure that statement describes our firm. Our efforts take many shapes, including enhancing recruitment, mentoring, development and retention practices; implementing an internal structure where everyone feels supported, seen, and heard; championing community initiatives that promote equity and diversity-related causes; and encouraging the firm’s employees to do the same.
Robinson Bradshaw recently formed a Racial Justice Task Force of lawyers and staff. The task force was charged with developing recommendations for the board of directors regarding actions our firm can take to (1) heighten internal awareness of the need for racial justice and the importance of fostering diversity and inclusion in both our firm and the legal profession as a way we can help address that need, and (2) promote racial justice in our local communities and our nation. We are taking concrete steps and doing our part toward the goal of achieving racial justice.
