Sponsor Spotlight: Lowe’s

In our Sponsor Spotlight series, CBI highlights our relationships with our sponsors, and the work they are doing to build a more equitable and just community within their own spheres of influence. Today’s Sponsor Spotlight focuses on Lowe’s.

Giving back to the communities where we live and work is an integral part of who we are. Through charitable contributions, associate volunteerism, and nonprofit partnerships, we’ve invested in our communities since our inception.

Lowe’s values the unique perspectives and experiences of our associates and customers, and we’re committed to fostering an inclusive culture that enables everyone who touches our business to contribute to our success. Our 2020 diversity report gives insight to our journey.

To help us on our journey, we partner with community organizations like Community Building Initiative (CBI), located in our hometown of the Charlotte region. Through our partnership, our associates have the opportunity to receive professional development, connect with the community, and add to the equity conversations that impact the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community. Our associates are engaged in programs such as the Equity Impact Circle, Leaders Under 40, and the Equity Bus Tours.

Lowe’s sponsored CBI’s Aftershocks mural because it is a visible representation of the mission of the organization. It was created in collaboration by five local artists. We hope this mural will bring the community together for connection, conversation and change.
