Sponsor Spotlight: Aldersgate

In our Sponsor Spotlight series, CBI highlights our relationships with our sponsors, and the work they are doing to build a more equitable and just community within their own spheres of influence. Today’s Sponsor Spotlight focuses on Aldersgate. 

CBI wakes up, interrupts and steps up throughout our Charlotte community and this is why Aldersgate Life Plan Services aligns itself with CBI. In our mission we state that we honor elders and are committed to creating and fostering a diverse, caring community where everyone has a voice and value. One of our values is to embrace diversity, inclusion and equity. We are an inclusive organization that values the richness of diversity and allows each individual the opportunity to contribute their gifts in significant ways to the success of the organization and the betterment of our community. We will engage people of different thoughts, lifestyles, skills, talents and resources in creating communities and services.

This year we have moved forward with utilizing our land to partner and create mixed-income housing on our land. We also have partners like ourBridge, GenOne and the Urban Farm to maximize our resources for the betterment of our community. We take advantage of our positioning, our land, local partners and community members to establish ourselves as a leader. Our reputation precedes us as a forerunner of change. We started 2022 with a march to honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., participated in the Butterfly Project at the Levine JCC and connected with Crisis Assistance Ministry to learn about the Poverty Simulation. We continue to educate and create experiences for our residents and team members to enhance their road to becoming more inclusive and caring members of the Charlotte community.
